This depends on a number of factors including how long you’ve had the condition, the nature and severity of the condition, and your general state of health. Prior to beginning treatment, we will discuss with you our best plan for getting you better. Remember, our goal is to get you out of treatment as soon as possible!

As long as it is performed by a competent practitioner, acupuncture is one of the safest forms of medicine available. The needles are sterile and disposed of after each use.

During the first part of the visit, we will discuss your health concerns in detail. We will feel your pulses on each wrist and look at your tongue (both are key to TCM diagnosis). Once we have a thorough understanding of your condition, we will carefully insert the sterile, disposable, hair-thin acupuncture needles. We will then let you relax with the needles in for 30-40 minutes.

The needles are hair-thin and are inserted just under the skin. The sensation of the needles can vary.
