Dr. Carissa Fioritto received her nursing degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Called to do more for the healthcare system and her patients, she went on to pursue her naturopathic degree at National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL where she also pursued additional coursework in acupuncture. After graduation, she worked in an IV clinic in Chicago treating patients with intravenous nutrients with a cutting-edge integrative clinic.
She brings a unique skill set to Collaborative Natural Health Partners, literally bridging the gap between conventional and integrative medicine. Dr. Fioritto believes that all healing begins with the gut and works with patients to help them find a lifestyle that will support their health and well-being. She treats a variety of health concerns using nutrition, botanicals, and homeopathy. Dr. Fioritto is interested in helping people with digestive issues, hormone balancing, and skin health. She is equipped to see patients of all ages and backgrounds, whether its children or the elderly.
Dr. Fioritto is eager to explore the East Coast having lived in the Midwest for all of her life. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, and relaxing at home with her husband, daughter, and two cats.
Dr. Diana Zitserman completed her baccalaureate studies at Pennsylvania State University in biology and biochemistry. Her career began as a research scientist studying developmental biology and cancer pathways at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. After her 7-year career in research that resulted in eight journal publications, Dr. Z decided to take her dedication to science and combine it with her passion in understanding human interaction, nature, and alternative healing. She furthered her medical studies in pursuit of a lifelong career in Naturopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Bridgeport culminating in a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and Masters in Acupuncture.
Dr. Zitserman is a Connecticut licensed Naturopathic physician, specializing in Whole Person Wellness at Collaborative Natural Health Partners in Manchester. “Treating a person as a Whole requires completely new approaches towards establishing physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.” Identifying the patterns of disharmony and creating unique solutions per individual can bring significant improvement to one’s overall health.
Her practice in medicine addresses disease risk and prevention through the use of guided nutrition, herbal medicine, lifestyle counseling, homeopathy, and acupuncture. Dr. Z treats a myriad of health states pertaining, but not limited to: pain management of chronic illness, healthy digestion and aging, weight and stress management, hormonal regulation and mental-emotional stability.
The goal in natural health care is to restore metabolic functions, remove obstacles to cure, and improve the quality of health for all. With great enthusiasm and patient-centered care, Dr. Z extends her professional guidance and hands-on healing modalities to bring out the very best of health in you.
In her free time, she enjoys creating memories with family and friends, cooking, hiking, biking, being an auntie, and exploring beautiful CT with her fiancé.
Dr. Nick Edgerton studied Sports Biology, Nutrition and Chemistry at Springfield College where he participated in exercise science research. Dr. Edgerton went on to pursue his interest in natural medicine at the University of Bridgeport where he received a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Masters in Acupuncture. Dr. Edgerton has taken advantage of opportunities to study herbal medicine with native healers in Jamaica and the West Indies, in addition to volunteering medical services in an underserved area of Guatemala.
Dr. Edgerton sees patients with a variety of health concerns including men’s health, diabetes management, thyroid dysfunction and digestive disorders. Dr. Edgerton also utilizes Acupuncture for a number of conditions including pain, recovery, and insomnia.
Dr. Edgerton is passionate about supporting the expansion of Naturopathic Medicine. He has pushed legislative efforts to expand the scope of practice for naturopathic doctors in the state of Connecticut and is hopeful for improving access to Naturopathic Doctors nationwide.
When not treating patients, Dr. Edgerton, a Connecticut native, enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, running, gardening, and boating.
